ich hatte ganz vergessen ein Foto von unserem neuen challenging Projekt: der Monatsblock unserer Gilde läuft als Programm über 6 Monate und umfasst verschiedene Blöcke aus dem Buch Puzzle Quilts von Paula Nadelstern.
Dazu bekommen wir jeden Monat 2 vorgegebene Fatquarter und sollen damit den Block arbeiten. Das Besondere dieses Buches ist, dass mit "Fokusstoff" gearbeitet wird und dieser durch "fussy cut" (man verwendet bestimmte Teile eines sich wiederholende Musters aus dem Stoff) als Gestaltungselement für die Wirkung des Blockes eingesetzt wird.
Dies ist der erste Block (vorgegeben war der blau-mehrfarbige Paisleystoff und der senffarbene Gräserstoff, ich habe einen blauen Marble, einen hellblauen Batik und einen weiteren Stoff aus der Jinny Beyer Palette ergänzt):
I totally forgot to show you a pic of the new challenging block of the month program our guild. It's running over 6 months and the blocks are chosen from the book Puzzle Quilts from Paula Nadelstern. Each month we get 2 different fat quarters and have to do the chosen block (that, of course changes) with them, adding probaboy some more fabrics from our stash.
The special about this book/these blocks is that they are done with a focus fabric, that is cut using the fussy cut technique to force the impression of the block design.
This is the first one (we got the blue more colours paisley fabric and the mustard grass fabric, I added a blue marble, light blue batique and the another one, which is from the Jinny Beyer palette):
Der Block war für das Treffen im Januar fertigzustellen und mein Block geht an Julia :-).The block was due for the Janary meeting, Juila gets my block.
